Supporting Troops, Advancing Logistics: Competitive Projects Fourth Call Now Open! Whether it be a pizza at home or food rations for troops in a hostile area, autonomous vehicles are the future of delivery. Use your robotic expertise to get needed supplies to troops in forward areas. Along with advancing supply logistics, IDEaS is looking to create modular armour designs that will help adapt vehicles to threats in the here and now, in whatever environment they roll through. IDEaS is also looking to improve decision making by connecting various data sources to create a comprehensive picture of a given situation as well as looking for ways to give troops eagle eyes to detect threats. We need your thoughts on how to enhance cyber security on ships. Finally, soldiers transitioning back to civilian life from combat presents its own set of unique challenges. The deadline for application is December 8, 2020. https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/programs/defence-ideas/current-opportunities.html New Dates Coming for Corrosion Detection in Ships Sandbox Originally planned for June 2020, the Corrosion Detection in Ships (CDIS) Sandbox was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. IDEaS is pleased to announce that we are preparing to re-launch the CDIS Sandbox with the following tentative timelines: Call for Applications: Mid-November 2020 Application Deadline: Mid-December 2020 Corrosion Detection in Ships Sandbox: Spring/Summer 2021 (Halifax, Nova Scotia) The Sandbox will be open to all innovators, whether new or returning. Watch out for the call coming soon in your inbox. Competitive Projects keep rolling IDEaS has now awarded 70 $1 million contracts from our 1st Competitive Projects call for proposals. An additional three $1M in contracts have been awarded for our 2nd call for proposal, with many more in the works. On top of that we've awarded 51 $200K contracts from our 3rd call, with also more to come, and it adds up to IDEaS funding fast and moving science and technology through our innovation pipeline.
